About Us

Our desire is to help people find a more productive and fulfilling life.

We are a small company specialising in management training. We have extensive experience in dealing with management issues and stress in the workplace and in helping individuals manage their stress.

We have taken our training programmes internationally but are happy to hear from any size of business. We maintain competitive pricing structures.

Why Browncow?

We are often asked about the name Browncow. It was chosen by the founder of the business and was a nic-name given to him at school. We wanted a name that was easy to remember.

Who does the training?

Most of our training is run by our founder Christopher P. Brown (Chris). He has over twenty years experience of training in all different sizes of organisation. He has spent many thousands of hours researching stress and how to manage it and brings that wealth of experience to bear when he trains. He believes in an interactive approach to training and likes to keep things friendly and enjoyable.

He is also a fully qualified Walking Group Leader and so can take your group into the great outdoors for an even better learning experience.

Are you qualified?

The courses and all designed and produced by Christopher Brown. He currently holds two diplomas in stress management (with distinction) and another two diplomas in coaching. He is also an ordained Christian minister who trained with the Methodist Church at Bristol where he had the honour of being elected Student President.

His training for Ministry included studies in Psychology, Sociology, Counselling, Philosophy etc. He also holds an ONC in Civil Engineering and an HNC in Building (the area he started his career in as a structural detailer).

Although highly qualified he prides himself in his ability to relate complex issues to anyone. He delights in making difficult things easy to understand. Chris has also been called on to speak Internationally on the subject of stress management.

Chris has also experienced the pressure of stress first hand having to face many difficult situations throughout his life: his mother was ill while he was a child and was in and out of hospital while his father had to work overtime to make ends meet; he has faced working for a firm on the brink and faced redundancy; he suffered with clinical depression during a serious illness as a young man; he worked in one of the most stressful jobs in the world as the leader of a large church; he helped families whose children had died - having to baptise children in operating theatres who would not live long; he has counselled families when a member of the family committed suicide; he has spent many hours with couples as their marriages broke up; he had friends die from too much stress (this is what led him to get interested in the first place); he faced having to rebuild his life and find a new career after leaving full time Christian ministry (no scandal he got fed up with the politics) with no house and a young family to feed; recently his sister-in-law died from cancer; etc etc. Experience counts for a great deal and with Chris its not just learning from books he has had to deal with stress for himself and others all his life.

This list may sound like a tale of woe but Chris has also enjoyed many highs in his life and believes in making life fun and positive. He believes that training should be both fun and worthwhile. People should be better when they leave than when they came.

Educational advice is also sought from Chris' wife Alison who is a highly qualified and experienced teacher. She holds a First Degree (with honours) in Education from Goldsmiths College in London - the UK's top College for Education.
